Sunday School

It's been a minute since I last posted a shoot I styled for the photographer girl-genius Hana Haley.

Well I have something new to share - a series we shot a couple weeks ago, once again modeled by Hannah Lee Duggan (last seen here). I am constantly amazed by the results Hana (and Hannah, for that matter) yield, and it was such a thrill to see these final shots.

Instead of telling the full story for this series, i'm going to let the photos speak for themselves.

35mm

I really enjoy taking photos on REAL film - i never have gotten the hang of digital cameras (not counting instagram, OBVI). I don't consider myself a photographer, mostly because a) i don't actually know anything about the mechanics of photography and therefore use only disposable and toy cameras, and b) it takes me about 6 months to finish a roll.

this roll was no exception - it spans from last October, to just a couple of weeks ago. I just got it developed and the film i used, Fuji Superia, produces the most amazing colors. And the camera, a Lomo LC-A, is the only camera i've found that i like better than a trusty disposable. It's always fun getting a roll back after all that time and being surprised by the photos i took!

cherry tart

Hard to believe it was that long ago, but last August, several vintage Bay Area ladies (loosely known as The Golden Collective) met up for high tea at the Rotunda in Neiman Marcus. It was a great excuse to spend a gorgeous afternoon together and get gussied up in vintage dresses, matching purses and heels, and *just be girls*. We decided at the time that it should be something we tried to do more often. Understandably, getting half a dozen busy ladies together at the same time can be a challenge - but we managed to meet up again last weekend for another lovely tea! This time the sun was shining hotter than usual in SF, and we met up at a lush Middle Eastern tea salon for potent green teas and delicious snacks. (Un)fortunately, we had too good of a time actually eating and visiting to get any snaps of the group, or the food! I did however cram in a mini photo sesh with Christina (aka For Show) and managed to get a couple shots of my delightful 2-piece cherry print playsuit, perfect for the summer days we've been having! Hopefully there will be many more teas with these ladies in the near future!
